A unique episode of Making the Leap featuring two fearless men in their respective fields who've stood tall at great personal cost to their careers and families because they stayed true to their Christian faith. The 2023 Awards launched with the sixth annual Social Mobility Business Seminar in March. The nominations for 2023 submissions then opened in April, and will close at the end of June. Once the entries are in, they will be judged by a prestigious panel made up of leading figures from business, politics, charity and the public sector, and are chaired by Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, Chair of Restoration Partners. The winners will be announced at the annual Awards gala, which will be held on 12th October, 2023. Our mission is to transform the futures of disadvantaged young people in the UK, by providing training to raise their aspirations and develop their skills, behaviours and attitudes to choose and succeed in a career.

We offer our 16-25 year olds ongoing coaching for as long as they need, as well as holistic support such as counselling, to ensure that they are fully equipped for their next step. Making The Leap, along with our partners, launched the first national awards event dedicated to social mobility in 2017. Now in their seventh year, the UK Social Mobility Awards are about making the advancement of social mobility a key part of how organisations are run in this country. At our annual awards ceremony in October, we recognised and celebrated the efforts of the people and organisations that are leading the way in this endeavour.

All the young men attend the soft-skills workshop and receive customised training specific to jobs. This would include company values, required aptitude tests, core competencies and any dress codes. Thereafter, the young men receive individual coaching after the soft skills programme. This is where they are supported with any of their individual needs. This coaching is both work-related and pastoral, and would last for as long as required, to give them the best opportunity of securing the life-changing opportunity they are seeking. You've gone out of your way, sometimes at great personal sacrifice to make sure your child's K-12 education is Christ-focused. But then he or she decides their college of choice is the furthest thing away from a Christ-centered environment.You no doubt heard about the high school football coach fired for praying on the field. His historic victory before the Supreme Court last year wasn't widely noticed, but it was a huge win for religious liberty. Coach Joe Kennedy joins us to discuss his story and his new book "Average Joe." Dr. Keri Ingraham joins the show to thoroughly explain what ESAs or "universal school choice" means by definition and what goes into the funding formula for those who live in states with "universal school choice." Laurence Meehan is the Corporate Relations Director for Diageo’s Great Britain business, where he has worked since 2017. Previously he held campaigning, public affairs and media roles at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, the Local Government Association, and the Royal College of Nursing. It also delivers bespoke recruitment drives to give companies access to audiences that are under-represented amongst their workforce. These projects not only provide young people with entry level career opportunities, but also support companies to widen the talent pool they have access to.
