About this deal

In 2005 she joined Radio 1 where she spent 10 years, initially co-hosting morning shows with Reggie Yates, and then moving onto the UK Top 40 show before taking over the prestigious weekday morning slot in 2009. She's known for her fun and upbeat presenting style, but Fearne Cotton has also been bravely open about her struggle with depression during some darker points in her life.

In 2005 she joined Radio 1 where she spent 10 incredible years, initially co-hosting morning shows with Reggie Yates and then moving onto the UK Top 40 show before taking over the prestigious weekday morning slot in 2009; here she mixed big celebrity interviews with exclusive acoustic performances in the Live Lounge. There are some amazing tips for dealing with life and it’s hardships, coping mechanisms for when it’s all still to much and all with a very positive vibe. With advice, exercises, tips and tricks, Fearne's drawn on her own experiences and penned a practical guide to finding joy and unleashing inner happiness. Overall I think this book is a perfect starting point, especially for a more modern younger generation as it covers more apt topics such as social media, comparison, and friendship groups moving on. Whether you dip into these pages every now and then when you feel you need it, or use it daily as a positive exercise, I hope it brings you much relief, joy and calm. His UK tour in March is sold out and final tickets are available for his headline shows at Alexandra Palace Park (July 19th), Dublin (June 26th) and Halifax Piece Hall (June 30th). The pretty cover invites you to read, but truthfully the book itself lacks substance - while there were a few pages that really spoke to me, as a whole, there was nothing new in this book in terms of advice. I mean we even have national days like RU OK and pretty much every other famous person comes out as a former or current sufferer of depression and/or anxiety etc. I suppose the same is true for me in relation to noise as I grew up in such an idyllic and quiet environment I feel on edge around constant disturbing noises. It is not however a replacement for therapy for anyone struggling significantly with mental health issues but rather a warm, caring hug of a book to support alongside treatment, medication or self care.

I received this book as a Christmas gift and gave it a skim read to see if there was anything remotely new or compelling. With expert advice from the Mind, along with ideas and exercises, delve into the journey of happiness as Fearne invites you to try it out for yourself! Work aside, Fearne is a mother of 2 and continues to find time to support a range of charities with seemingly no challenge too big for her, whether it be climbing Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief, or trekking the Inca Trail for Breast Cancer Care. It is a sort of self-help guide but instead of telling the reader how to live their life, she gives advice and perspective on mental health and how to look within your self for your way of living. million with live, innovative content around her programming and off-air projects, ranking her amongst the world’s top 250 most influential Tweeters. It's very readable and well thought out and whilst it isn't a 'therapy' based book it's not light and fluffy either.
