Sometimes the feeling builds to some shocking revelation when you turn a page, but soon the shock will be followed by a panel or scene that's almost-hopeful. Lovesickness takes place in a town obsessed with fortune-telling, where citizens ask strangers at the crossroads what their fate will be.This volume of Junji Ito short horror stories contains the Lovesickness series of tales; The Beautiful Boy at the Crossroads, A Woman In Distress, Shadow, Screams In The Night and The Boy In White. The collection features the official English release of Lovesick Dead, originally released in Japan in 1997, as well as both of Ito's stories featuring the Hikizuri siblings, among others.

Unfortunately the main story also isn’t among the better parts of the collection but it’s a decent book overall. Sometimes, Ito seems to want to tell stories that are more goofy and grotesque than straight-up horror, and these definitely fell under that.

At school, Ryuusuke is told by a friend that another girl killed herself over intersection fortune telling and that the school she was from is not allowing students to play it any longer.
