OriginalLine Nespresso machines are compatible with third party capsules, widening the selection of coffee types you can brew. The Gran Lattissima comes with a stand to elevate the platform where your espresso cup would go. This is a thoughtful feature since it'll help keep your espresso hot. Unfortunately, despite the name "Gran Lattissima", you cannot customize milk textures or temperatures with this Nespresso machine. You either get hot milk, or milk froth, at a single temperature. If you like both espresso and milk-based drinks, you’ll love Gran Lattissima. It makes seven different drinks, plus hot milk and milk froth. The milk frother is completely automatic, which means you insert the pod, choose the drink, and the machine froths and pours the milk for you. You have milk beverages with a press of a single button.

Lattissima One is more compact than the Gran model. This means it has a smaller capsule container capacity (8 vs. 14). However, the water tank capacity is the same for both machines — 34 oz. The milk system functions as on the Gran Lattissima, but the milk container is smaller (only 4 oz compared to the 17 oz). All the cleaning takes a lot of time, even running the automatic rinse of the milk frother. For our money, OriginalLine machines are better than VertuoLine machines because their pump produces more authentic espresso, the coffee tends to be hotter, and there's no barcode scanning system meaning you can find less-expensive third-party capsules. Nespresso Gran Lattissima provides good value for your money. It has a fast heating system, an automatic milk frother with a removable milk container, and is compatible with both Nespresso and third-party capsules. Lattissima One is the basic model in the Lattissima lineup, so it’s the most affordable. This Nespresso machine makes only four drinks, compared to the Gran Latissima’s nine options. You could brew an espresso shot separately, and then use the one-touch hot milk or milk foam buttons (and program these as well) to create your favorite milky drink. Nespresso Gran Lattissima is a grand choice for coffee lovers who want espresso or a latte macchiato with a touch of a button. If you don’t want to go through the hassle of using a traditional espresso machine (grinding, tamping, frothing the milk), you’ll love Nespresso Gran Lattissima.

It is only 7.9 inches wide and only 10.8 inches in height. So it should fit on most kitchen counters and under most kitchen cabinets. The coffee drinks are good quality. Gran Lattissima has a powerful 19-bar pump, the same as other Nespresso OriginalLine machines. The pump ensures there’s good coffee extraction during the brewing and that espresso has a nice crema. This Gran Lattissima is the newest of these 5 Lattissima models with the most modern design that weighs a touch less than the similarly spec'd Lattissima Pro. The biggest difference is the Pro's digital touchscreen display and larger spent capsule capacity while the Gran has more preset beverage recipes: Flat milk recipes include the café latte and the flat white. However, given the nature of the Rapid Cappuccino System, there will be no micro-foam and the milk texture between these two drinks will be the same. So these drinks might feel a bit 'off'.

Fully automated espresso machines like this one have inner components where the milk circulates. So a thorough cleaning is very important to avoid your machine becoming a thriving bacteria colony.
