Norman Howells & Frank Heggarty have sadly passed away. Our thoughts are with their Famiies, Friends, and Bowling Colleagues at this sad time. Norman Howells funeral is on October 30th 11am at Landican Wallasey Committee - There has been a number of expressions of interest in joining the Wallasey Committee and this will be dealt with at the AGM as necessary Gordon Chalton , long term member of Bromborough Recs bowling club passed away on the 3rd of November. His funeral will be at Blacon Crematorium on Friday the 15 th of December at 12pm. Refreshments will be provide afterwards at Thorton hall. Sad news from Bromborough Pool, Dave Wilson has sadly passed away. Our thoughts are with his Family, Friends, and Bowling Colleagues. The idea of this change is to encourage more teams to enter these cups and avoid drop outs once the draws have been made.There isn't actually a rule to prevent this, it was just passed down as given, probably because it was rarely needed years ago as most players played for just the one club. Amendments to these Notices of Motion may be submitted by Clubs not later than October 31st of each year. Any such amendment received not later than October 31 st will be circulated to Member Clubs before the Annual General Meeting. The date of the 2023 AGM will be advertised in due course. Clubs are reminded that Any Notices of motion must be received in writing by no later than 30th September. These will then be circulated to all clubs. The Annual General Meeting Agenda and any other papers will be distributed shortly before the meeting. The Semi Final's and Finals will be at the end of the season on a Saturday for the League Cups and Monday's for the WG Roberts Cup Some rounds are on Monday and some down as Tuesday games so if there are clashes for certain teams with the Sandbach or Runcorn League so I would ask that Teams are flexible if a game needs to be switched to the day prior or the day after so we can maximise the entry

Clubs entering more than one team shall register players per team.Once a player as played for a particular team he/she cannot play for any other team during that season. Sun 5th Mar I have uploaded a Wirral Bowls Calendar 2023 which shows all the League, Cup and Individual/Pairs competitions that I have been advised of. You will find the link in the Menu. League bowling generally takes place on either Thursday or Friday evenings, whilst the Cup competitions are played on other days. A new Treasurer is still required for the association as the Wallasey Association will not be able to operate without one. (For the avoidance of doubt, I will not act as a Treasurer in addition to my duties as Secretary though I will help any new incoming Treasurer as much as I can). In 2023 we are going to raise money for Down Syndrome Cheshire through the Club collection boxes. If you do not have one we will try and source some to distribute. The club that collects the most gets a trophy to hold for 12 months. Please encourage your members to throw any loose change in.

Sad news from Upton Victory Hall, Norman Howells sadly passed away last week and Frank Heggarty passed away Tuesday Night. Our thoughts are with his Family, Friends, and Bowling Colleagues. Many congratulations to Gladstone in winning the George O'Neil Trophy for the third time in a row. The day gave us lovely sunshine all afternoon and sparkling bowling throughout. The scores certainly didn't tell the full story, with almost miraculous shots winning many ends. Our thanks go to all the Teams for making it an excellent afternoon's competition and to all the Captains for their help and support in making the wole afternoon flow smoothly. We thank Albany B C for their excellent facilities and providing first class refreshments to an endless line of customers. Also our grateful thanks to our Referee Bill Dow for his tireless presence throughout the day. Thu 26th JanThe Wirral Charity Handicap final will take place on Saturday 15th April at the Albany Bowling Club with 2pm scratch.
