It’s been incredibly inspiring to see the Disney Bounding community evolve over the years as fans continue to find unique ways to express themselves.
Among these dolls is the idealistic Moxy (Kelly Clarkson), who dreams of the 'Big World' and being chosen for a child ("Today's the Day"/"Couldn't Be Better"), despite Uglyville's Mayor Ox (Blake Shelton) assuring her this is a myth. They discover another world – Perfection – a town where more conventional dolls are trained in protocols before they graduate and are sent to the “real” world to find the love of a child. Soon, the UglyDolls learn what it means to be different -- ultimately realizing that they don't have to be perfect to be amazing. While Mandy is more accepting of the Uglydolls — she herself has poor eyesight — she refuses to wear glasses and be labelled 'imperfect. When he saw Ox nearly pass the training, he couldn't bear to see an Ugly go to the human world when he, supposedly perfection itself, could not.Janelle Monáe as Mandy, a lonely perfect doll who wears glasses for eyesight problems and befriends the Uglydolls. An animated adventure in which the free-spirited UglyDolls confront what it means to be different, struggle with a desire to be loved, and ultimately discover who you truly are is what matters most. On advice from the shy village 'wise man' Lucky Bat (Wang Leehom), Moxy enters the hole from which new Uglydolls arrive, hoping to reach the Big World with the help of Lucky Bat and her friends, easy-going Ugly Dog (Pitbull), cynical baker Wage (Wanda Sykes), and strong, soft-spoken Babo (Gabriel Iglesias).
He took up the role of mayor and kept the Big World a secret from his fellow Uglydolls, wanting to protect them from the terrible truth. Ox found the recycling center there; seeing other dolls like himself being shredded up, he rerouted the tunnel and founded Uglyville at the other end.
In a last-ditch attempt to keep the Uglydolls from leaving, Lou takes a giant knitting needle to destroy the portal to the Big World. The endearingly unique residents of Uglyville occasionally look to the sky above the town, where a new UglyDoll will appear and be embraced by the community. Mandy, one of the Pretties, sympathizes with them, as she has poor eyesight but can't wear glasses for fear of being labeled 'ugly' and put in the dreaded recycling center.
However, once in the Gauntlet, Lou shows his true colors as a coward, abandoning his comrades and leaving them to be saved by the Uglies.
