Sustainably made, the Hikelite's main body fabrics are Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified and bluesign approved. Bluesign® is an independent third party and sets out strict criteria for manufacturers and brands to follow to be certified bluesign. Hikelite 26 features an AirSpeed™ suspended mesh backpanel, helping to keep you cool and comfortable when you’re out for a hike.

An integrated and detachable raincover hides in a pocket on the base, ready to be deployed when the weather turns nasty. The bottom of the pack is reinforced with bluesign® approved 420D recycled nylon, which is much more robust and thicker to improve strength where it's needed most. It's a 26-litre backpack for done-in-a-day adventures, whether hiking, hill walking or rambling at the weekend with friends and family. The recent extended spell of dry weather has kept me from testing this aspect of the pack, but the cover gives good coverage of the pack and should perform as well as the other rain covers on Osprey’s packs. The sternum strap at the front helps keep your pack in place and has a small rescue whistle attached for emergencies.If you get caught in the rain, there is a detachable raincover integrated into the bag so all your stuff stays dry even if you don't. It features an AirSpeed™ trampoline back system which works with adjustable hip and sternum straps to keep the weight off your back and to aid airflow between you and the pack. There aren’t many manufacturers that are confident enough to offer a ‘ reasonable lifetime‘ guarantee and from my experience of Osprey, their gear really is built to last – giving you many years of great performance. This lightweight, active pack provides space for all your daily essentials for the hill, trail and town. A tensioned mesh back panel keeps up airflow between the pack and your back and the minimalist design provides easy use.

AS A YOUNG BOY GROWING UP IN OREGON, Mike found himself unsatisfied with the poor fit of his backpacking equipment. I find that it’s really comfortable to wear and that it’s also very easy to adjust the straps to give me a good fit. Small and light comes with limitations and this is not a pack you would want to overload due to the lack of weight transfer to the hip belt.
